abstract = {Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is a T-helper type 2 (Th2) mediated disease characterized by an eosinophilic dominant esophageal inflammatory response that is thought to promote esophageal remodeling and reduced esophageal caliber leading to vomiting, dysphagia, chest pain, food impaction and decreased health-related quality of life (1). The cellular and molecular processes that underlie the pathophysiology of EoE are not yet fully understood, however a combination of environmental and genetic factors interwoven with host immunity is thought to drive the clinical manifestations of disease (2-5).},
